In late May 2020, the “Power 5” athletic conferences sent a letter to Congress requesting an antitrust exemption that would give them the unchecked freedom to continue restricting college athletes’ name, image, and likeness rights. Today, Pearson Warshaw, LLP, along with its co-counsel in the In re NCAA Grant-in-Aid Cap Antitrust Litigation, sent Congress a response letter vigorously supporting college athletes’ antitrust rights and opposing the conferences’ request for legal immunity.
